Moving Ladybirds for Kids

You can make ladybirds moving on a leaf.
Step by step: It is easy to make moving ladybirds!

What you need

  • 1 square of red paper with a side length of approx. 6 "
  • Some green and black construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive and duct tape
  • Needle and thread

What you do

  • Cut out a circle from the square.

  • Fold the circle along the central diagonal.

  • Then fold the left side over the right.

  • Unfold it again and fold the edges so they touch the crease mark.

  • This is how it looks like.

  • Glue on black circles, legs, head and feelers from black construction paper.

  • Cut out a leaf from green construction paper.
  • Pierce a hole near the stem and the tip of the leaf. Pull a thread through the holes.

  • Fasten the ladybird with duct tape to the thread.
  • Knot the thread under the leaf.
  • Now you can let the ladybird move by pulling the knot under the leaf forward and backward.
