I have known a lot of people who had - carefully expressed - a very sceptical attitude towards dowsing. Above all, I was asked how I could be sure that it works. Then I usually let them try out a little exercise which succeeds with nearly every beginner. Even the hardest critics of esotericism said afterwards that "something is working in dowsing ".
On these pages you will learn what to use a pendulum for and how it works. You will find some tips for choosing a pendulum, practical exercises for beginners and general tips for dowsing.
Applications of a pendulum

Pendulum divination is an ancient method whose application can be traced back centuries. In the course of the time the fields of application have multiplied, especially by the modern pendulum research. Nowadays the pendulum is used in medical science, in disciplines like physics, geology, geodesy, archeology, meteorology, in agriculture and forestry, psychology, character science, geopathics, bioenergetics and many other areas. Furthermore, by means of the pendulum we can get information about symbols, glyphs, seals, runes, talismans, otherwordly intelligences, lost items and the future.
How does it work?

All living beings, objects, and materials oscillate and man perceives these oscillations. Notice: Also thoughts are oscillations! The pendulum is a means to visualize them. The movement of the pendulum could result from the bioenergy emitted by the hands, especially the finger points, or also from fine muscle twitches in the fingers. This bioenergy can be made visible with the help of high frequency photography (Kirlian). However, it is still unproven how a person perceives oscillations. It is possible that they are received by the nervous system, the ethereal system (aura, chakras), also certain parts of our brain, and the thymus.
