A Paper Peacock shows its beautiful coat

Step by step: It is easy to make a proud paper peacock!

What you need

  • 1 paper square with a side length of approx. 3 " (7,5 cm) length
  • 1 paper square, sides twice as long (approx. 6 " (15 cm) )
  • 1 tiny paper square with a side length of approx. 1,5 " (4 cm) for the comb
  • Adhesive
  • 1 black pen
 

What you do

For the body

1. Paper Peacock
  • Take the middle-sized paper square.
2. Paper Peacock
  • Fold the paper along the central diagonal.
  • Unfold it again.
  • Fold the left top and bottom corner so they touch the center crease mark.
How to fold a peacock?
  • Then fold the two right corners so that they touch the center crease mark, too.
  • Then turn the figure 90 degrees clockwise.

  • Now flip the figure over.
  • Fold the bottom corner up and turn 90 degrees anti-clockwise.

  • Then fold the upper half down along the central diagonal.

  • Fold the left corner up, then back again.

  • Unfold the triangle ...

... so that the inside comes out.

  • For the head fold the top corner to the left and then back again.

  • Open the triangle produced in this way and unfold it so that the inside comes out.
  • Finally paint the eyes.
 

For feather coat and comb

  • For the coat you need a square with twice the side length as for the body.
  • Fold the paper like an accordion.

  •  Crease it in the center.

  •  Open the fan.
Paper Peacock
  • Put the body between the fan and glue the fan together in the center.
  • Afterwards fold the tiny paper square in the same way as the feather coat.
  • Glue the small fan behind the head of the peacock.
  • Now you have a proud paper peacock!
