Literature, if you want to learn more ...

I was asked, where are the references and ressources used for this site. Thanks a lot for these questions.

To say the truth, I'm far away from the point to call myself a Vastu expert. But I want to give the bare bones of my way with interior design, Vastu and architecture.

Beside own experience and serious studies, I recommend the following ressources:

  1. cover: Vastu Vidya"Vastu Vidya. The indian art of placement", by Juliet Pegrum. Gaia Books Ltd, London. A not so deep, but profund and practical reading for beginners. The author wrote a lot more about harmonic living and various kinds of yoga which may lead you to a deeper understandig of Vastu. It's close to the teachings of B.V. Raman.
  2. The "Astrological Magazine" is a must-read for Vastu, integral life and health. This wellknown magazine's CEO, Niranjan Babu, is a brilliant thinker and practitioner of Vastu.
  3. "Bauhaus Lecture Notes 1930-1933. Theory and practice of architectural training at the Bauhaus", by Marty Bax. Amsterdam, Architectura & Natura, 1991. - Brilliant caleidscope of the architectonic revolution in the 20./ 21. centuries, and a completely different beginning to  architecture  & design. Thinking in functional categories is the 'western inheritance'. And in my eyes it's a huge gain for all who stand in the Indian tradition (as vice versa).
  4. Again, a more practical book (but I'm not sure, what this phrase exactly means:), because every thought is for practical life) ... -  "Licht - Raum, Raum - Licht" (en: Light - Room, Room-Light), by Prof. Rudolf Schricker; Deutsche Verlags-Anstalt 1997 (not available in English language; what a pity)
  5. The Chinese-American architect Ieoh Ming Pei unites ideas from Bauhaus and Vastu/ Feng Shui. Maybe that's more a topic for academics, but nevertheless the heart of what integration of Eastern wisdom can mean. Imho we should learn and try in this direction.
  6. Christopher Alexander. Thinking in patterns was a revolution in architecture - the re-discovery of form.
  7. ... to be continued

If you are interested in architecture and design, the following books can help you to get the big picture.
