Vaastu Shastra

When we act on instinct we can furnish apartments and houses nicely. With knowledge, rules and techniques we create a nice atmosphere in our home. We feel fine and are full of energy. In this house we live in harmony with the universe and this implies more than arranging furniture.

lotos - symbol of cosmic harmony

The first time I got in contact with the Indian art of living was during a short holiday in the Netherlands. A friend showed me a big home and garden centre with a department exclusively reserved for Indian furniture. I fell in love with some pieces, but at that time I had no chance to put this furniture in my house.

Before I engaged in the art of living, I shifted the furniture in my house every month. Something disturbed me, but I did not know what it was. Then I discovered the rules of Vastu and "Vaastu Vidya" (Vidya means science - not a religion) which is Sanskrit for "the science of living". It is the Indian art of architecture which originates from old knowledge. Living in perfect harmony with nature, on the basis of old vedic scripts. It is no theory thought up by humans, but the knowledge which is contained in the laws of nature.

Wisdom of Vastu

The Indian art of living is based on many thousand years of tradition and experience and was passed on by word of mouth from "Rishi" to "Rishi".

"Vaastu Shastra" is the science of constructing a house, arranging an appartment with furniture, colours and pictures in harmony with the universe. Just as Ayurveda "Vastu Shastra” assumes that all events in nature are reflected in people and also in a house.

The longer I deal with Vastu principles, the more harmonic my apartment becomes. It becomes my little paradise, in which I enjoy living very much.
